Blackpool winger of the 1960s Ian Moir has died of cancer at the age of 71.

A ‘Busby Babe’, the Scot joined Blackpool from Manchester United as a 21-year-old in February 1965.

Moir, who could operate down either flank, scored 14 goals in 66 appearances for the Seasiders.

He moved on the Chester City in the summer of 1967, after Stan Mortensen had become manager in place of Ron Suart, who also died this week.

Moir later had two spells at Wrexham, with a stint at Shrewsbury in between, before moving to South Africa in 1975.
