Blackpool are sweating on the fitness of Joan Oriol and Jose Miguel Cubero.

Injury ruled both out of Saturday’s defeat at Huddersfield but they are believed to be close to a return.

And manager Jose Riga said his side needs every possible player available.

“I hope Joan can be ready to play against Derby and maybe Cubero too,” he said.

“It’s clear we need all the bodies we can get at the moment. We have some players missing who are very important and we need them back.

“We can’t start games badly and rely on one or two players to drag us through.

“We don’t have the sort of players to do that, so we have to do things together all the time – not for 20 minutes of the game but for all of it.

“We are still vunerable and I’m more than aware of it. We’ll need to be at our best collectively and individually.

“Long-term injuries happen a lot in Blackpool and it’s something we need to sort.”

Derby have injury worries of their own ahead of tonight’s Bloomfield Road game but they have added Stoke goalkeeper Jack Butland on loan.

Steve McClaren has moved for the England U21 international after first-choice keeper Lee Grant suffered an ankle injury in Saturday’s win at Reading. Butland is expected to start tonight.

- Everton’s former Blackpool youth keeper Connor Hunt has joined Chesterfield on a month’s loan.

The 18-year-old left Bloomfield Road for Everton over the summer on a three-year contract.

Hunt, who was part of Richie Kyle’s title-winning Pool youth side last season, is yet to feature for the Toffees.
