IAN Holloway has revealed a swap deal involving Barry Ferguson will no longer happen.
The skipper is keen on a move away from Bloomfield Road after being told he can’t be guaranteed first team football.
Holloway and Ferguson held talks last week after the midfielder was left-out of the squad to face Burnley at the weekend.
It’s believed the 34-year-old is keen on a move back to his former club Birmingham, and the two clubs are in talks over a deal.
And Holloway revealed he almost agreed a swap deal, only for the player in question to score three in midweek.
He said: “The player who I was interested in scored three, and his manager has had a injury to another player.
“I’m not even sure that player wanted to come here anyway.
“He probably didn’t fancy it due to the speculation about my future.
“The boy scored three goals, I would have taken him all day.
“That isn’t going to happen now.”
