Blackpool FC made it three signings in a day by snapping up 20-year-old prospects David Ferguson and Connor Oliver from Sunderland.
Both had trials with Pool before Christmas and have signed contracts until the end of next season, each with the option of a further 12 months.
They followed the capture of French striker Saer Sene.
Neither defender Ferguson nor midfielder Oliver broke into the first-team at Sunderland, though Oliver did play League footall on loan at Hartlepool at the end of last season.
He came through the youth ranks at the Stadium of Light, whereas Ferguson joined the Black Cats in 2012 from Darlington, for whom he played in the Conference.
Ferguson said: “It’s a move that I really wanted to happen, so hopefully I can hit the ground running. I came here for a week in November and everyone was welcoming. It was a good environment to be in.”
Oliver said: “I’ve been at Sunderland six years and it was a good experience, but I wanted to come out and get some first-team games. It’s a good opportunity for me, so I’ve got to take it with both hands.”
Both deals are subject to Premier League clearance.
