Blackpool have failed in their initial attempts to sign Morecambe striker Jack Redshaw.
The Shrimps were contacted by The Seasiders last week but have knocked back an approach from the League 1 side.
Redshaw, the subject of interest from Rotherham and Peterborough amongst others in recent seasons, has starred for The Shrimps since joining from Altrincham in January 2012.
A Morecambe FC statement said: “The club can confirm that Karl Oyston spoke to (Morecambe chairman) Peter McGuigan regarding a transfer fee for Jack Redshaw.
“Agreement couldn’t be made therefore Jack Redshaw remains a Morecambe FC player and we’re comfortable that he will start the season with Jim Bentley’s side.”
Little has been said by Blackpool about their search for new additions, with manager Neil McDonald silent for almost two weeks.
It’s unclear whether or not the Seasiders will return with a second bid for the striker.
