Blackpool have injury worries ahead of today’s trip to Huddersfield.

Jose Miguel Cubero, Joan Oriol and Sergei Zenjov will all miss the 3pm kick-off but Pool are able to welcome back defender Peter Clarke.

Manager Jose Riga explained: “Joan Oriol is a few days away from fitness after the kick he received against Cardiff.

“Jose Cubero also won’t be available due to a problem with his ankle ligaments and we won’t be taking any risks.

“Sergei has returned from international duty (with Estonia) injured, so he won’t be involved.

“We’ve always managed to find solutions and I’m sure we’ll be able to do that again.”

Andrea Orlandi returns after a foot injury and Formose Mendy is much closer to a debut. Clarke’s return gives Riga a dilemma following Jeffrey Rentmeister and Donervon Daniels’ excellent displays against Cardiff. “Sometimes you’re obliged to change a winning team,” said Riga.

“We have a squad who can adapt and we’ve had to do that in the last couple of games.

“It’s good to have Peter back, not only on the pitch but also in the dressing room. He’s a big character around the club and is very important.

“But more importantly, I’m pleased for him as it was his health we were dealing with (a twisted colon). I’m not his doctor but I’ve seen a big improvement in him and he’s back to full strength.”

Blackpool have sold around 1,000 tickets for the John Smith’s Stadium, with many more expected to travel today.

That delights the manager, who added: “I don’t have to repeat (myself) about the fans but their support is quite amazing.

“I’m happy to hear they will be travelling to Huddersfield and I want to give the fans what they want.”
