Blackpool could be without four senior players for tomorrow’s first home game of the season.

Angel Martinez and Craig Cathcart both missed training yesterday after picking up injuries against Preston.

And with the suspended Tom Ince and injured Matt Phillips already ruled out, Paul Ince’s squad is massively stretched.

“The injury situation is not great,” said boss Ince.

“We’ve been saying for weeks now we need to bring players in and strengthen the squad.

“To maybe lose Cathcart and Angel for tomorrow is a massive blow.

“But we’ll see how they are on Friday. Hopefully they will be fine.”

It’s no secret Ince is desperate to add to his squad at Bloomfield Road.

Even before the injuries struck, numbers were low but Ince thinks there may be light at the end of the tunnel.

He said: “We have a few who will hopefully come in before the weekend, but ‘hopefully’ is the important word there.

“We are still searching and still looking around for players to add to our squad. We saw on Monday the size of the squad we have. We have been punished for having such a small squad by picking up injuries.”
