Blackpool have seen two bids for an unnamed player knocked back in the last two weeks,

Boss Lee Clark revealed he’s keen on adding to his squad and wants to bring in at least a couple of new faces between now and the end of the season.

And after admitting a deal to sign Gary Madine from Sheffield Wednesday permanently fell through before the striker joined on loan, Clark revealed that’s the case with another.

“We were trying to sign a player permanently along with Gary before the deadline closed,” he said.

“Since then we’ve been trying to strike a deal which would see us take him on loan before signing him in the summer. At this moment in time there’s a stumbling block in terms of the valuation of the player.

“We’ve offered what we think is a good fee but the selling club are looking for more. That one is just floating around at the moment.”

It is expected Blackpool will attempt to make the deal for Madine permanent at the end of the season regardless of what division the club find themselves in.

Clark is also willing to wait for his latest target.

He added: “We would still like the player but whether he arrives before the end of the season is a different thing entirely.

“If not we’ll go back in during the summer and bring him to the club then.”
