The Seasiders produced a promising performance in Critchley’s first game in charge at the weekend as they played out a goalless draw against in-form Fleetwood Town.

Despite only having three days with the players in training prior to the Fylde coast encounter, Critchley’s impact was clear to see.

Blackpool pressed high up the pitch and played at a fast tempo, while looking to play an attractive style as soon as they won the ball back.

“That’s the way the manager wants to play, he’s got his ideas and his philosophy and it’s up to us to adapt to that,” Moore said.

“I definitely think if we do play that way we will pick up a lot of points from now until the end of the season.

“It’s brilliant to have that kind of energy in the team. Because we’re young we can do it, there’s no excuses.

“We’ve got some very, very fast players up front with players like Nathan (Delfouneso) and Connor (Ronan).

“If we can get the ball over the top to them we can cause teams a lot of trouble with the press but also with the way we play football.”

Moore added: “The manager is obviously wise enough to know this is League One, this isn’t Liverpool. But there’s a lot of basics in football.

“You look at Liverpool and how well they’re doing, they do the fundamentals incredibly well.

“It wasn’t long ago Chris Wilder was saying: ‘that’s why they’re elite’ because they run further than everyone else and they run faster than everyone else.

“I think the manager understands where we are, but looking forward it’s an incredible insight into elite football and what we need to work to.

“There’s no doubt about it, this club will push on.”

Reflecting on his first experience of a Fylde coast clash, Bristol City loanee Moore said: “I really enjoyed it, it was brilliant. The fans behind the goal were even supporting us during the warm-up.

“You kind of understand how big a game it is in the area. People say it’s not a derby, but it definitely is.

“It feels like it and all week the build-up to it has been good.

“Obviously the new manager has come in as well and he’s got his points across very well in training - he’s very clear how he wants us to play and what he wants us to do.

“I think that showed for major parts of the game, especially in the first half. Then the wind in the second half changed the game a little bit.

“But all in all I really enjoyed it.”
