IAN Holloway isn’t taking any chances ahead of Wembley – he is staying in the same hotel room as two years ago.
Pool are doing everything the same as they did ahead of their 2010 play-off final … down to even the finest details.
They are not only leaving Blackpool at the same time on the same day, but they have booked the same hotel.
Holloway said at yesterday’s pre-Wembley press conference: “Everything is the same – same hotel and hopefully I’ve even got the same room. It isn’t superstition, it’s just organisation.
“It was great last time. The lads enjoyed it and the food was excellent. Everything about it was perfect, and obviously we were successful last time so we want to keep things the same.”
Holloway’s week got off to a sobering start, with Monday spent at a family funeral. The boss added: “My wife lost her auntie, so we went to her funeral. It is important you pay your respects at the right time. She was 79 and a lovely woman.
“But because we are so organised on the training ground ahead of this game, I could take the day off and rest assured that the lads were carrying on as normal, exactly the same as if I had been taking training myself.
“We are totally and utterly prepared, all because we have been in this position before.
“I am thoroughly enjoying it and I am completely looking forward to Saturday’s game.”
