Nile Ranger has returned to Blackpool training ten months after going AWOL from the club.

As revealed in yesterday’s Gazette, the 24-year-old appeared on the Fylde coast over the weekend sparking talk of a U-turn from boss Neil McDonald who had previously insisted his Blackpool career was over.

But it seems the manager may have had a change of heart after Ranger posted pictures and videos on social media back training with the Seasiders.

While he’s yet to join in with the rest of his team mates, Ranger was pictured doing fitness work on the Sand Dunes in St Annes with Pool’s fitness coach Scott Armstrong.

Ranger’s time at Bloomfield Road has been a turbulent one, and after the striker called his Blackpool contract “a joke” on social media last season, many were stunned when Pool exercised their option to tie him to the club for another 12 months.

He was then turned away from training last month after arriving back for pre-season almost a month late.

Pool are yet to comment on whether Ranger will now be available for selection at the club.
