Blackpool appear to have been rocked by yet more off the field problems after it was reported keeper coach Fred Barber has quit just two days into his new role.
The Seasiders announced the 51-year-old as the replacement of Bobby Mimms who left for Bolton on Tuesday.
But just hours after boss Neil McDonald was quoted by the club boasting about his capture, the experienced coach appeared to have a change of heart and has instead decided to return to Crewe.
Crewe boss Steve Davis confirmed the news this evening, saying he was pleased Barber had a ‘change of heart’ after a long conversation between the pair last night.
As yet there is no word from Blackpool FC who travel to Colchester for their opening game of the League One season this weekend.
