Blackpool turned in their best performance of the season to earn a big point away at high-flying Middlesbrough.

Daniel Ayala headed the home side ahead on 19 minutes and Pool fans were fearing the worst, but they need not have worried.

Jose Riga’s men responded brilliant and once Ishmael Miller fired them level with his first goal for the club on 25 minutes were the better side.

David Perkins rattled the post before the break before Miller saw two headers drift just wide as the game dragged on.

Boro showed flashes of quality and had chances themselves, but in the end Pool were able to earn what could turn out to be a massive point.
