Neil McDonald thinks his Blackpool team have the confidence to extend their four-match unbeaten run to six this week.

The Seasiders face back-to-back League One home games against Millwall tonight (7.45pm) and bottom club Crewe Alexandra on Saturday, and have a new addition to their squad in loan signing Hayden White.

The right-back from Bolton competes for a place in a defence which has not conceded in the last three league games, a run the manager is keen to extend.

McDonald said: “It’s a chance to keep the run going. If we can win these two home games coming up we’ll be in a really good position but we know it won’t be easy.

“The confidence we have now needs to carry on, especially because we have two home games now.”

Neil Harris’ Millwall have themselves been in much-improved form of late, winning their last two games.

And McDonald is only too aware of the threat they possess. He said: “I saw Millwall against Port Vale and they could have been 6-0 up at half-time. They have a lot of threats we need to take care of.

“If our attacking play is as good as on Saturday, I think we’ll cause them problems.”

Pool should have no new injuries worries ahead of this evening and could welcome back David Norris.

The veteran missed the weekend’s draw at Coventry with a calf strain, although striker Martin Paterson will again miss out.

McDonald revealed: “Norris picked up an injury on his calf but we are hoping he will be OK for Millwall; if not, definitely for Saturday.

“Martin has pulled up with a bit of a tight hamstring, so he’ll be out for 10 days now. We have to make sure he’s 100 per cent.

The 20-year-old White has agreed a deal at Bloomfield Road until January. He trained for the first time with his new team-mates yesterday.

A product of the Sheffield Wednesday youth system, Londoner White signed for Bolton in the summer of 2013 but has been restricted to five senior appearances.

Last season he had loan spells at Carlisle, Bury and Notts County. He is expected to go into the Pool squad to face Millwall tonight.
