Blackpool striker makes surprise loan move to League One newcomers Northampton T...

It comes after the Cobblers snapped up the 23-year-old on a season-long loan deal.

Nuttall, who came through the ranks at Manchester City, hasn't quite reached his promise as of yet, scoring just four goals in 33 appearances for Blackpool last season after signing for a sizeable fee from Blackburn Rovers.

But Curle, who guided Northampton to promotion via the League Two play-offs last season, believes he can get the best out of his new man.

"Joe is a player who has been on my radar for a few years now and someone I have been keen on working with," Curle said.

"We have monitored his progress from when he was a youngster at Manchester City and then through his time at Blackburn when he scored goals at both League One and Championship level.

"Joe is a player who will feel at home with us and will buy in to the culture we have created. We have high standards and demand that of each other, we have a strong work ethic and a togetherness and like our other new recruits, he will fit in well with the group.

"He is big, strong, powerful and has an eye for goal. He can be a handful for defenders and it will be a benefit to all parties to have him with us for the season.

"We are looking forward to working with Joe and to welcoming him to the club."
