Lloyd Jones is set for an extended spell on the sidelines for the Seasiders after having TWO operations.
The Liverpool loan man limped out of Blackpool’s 2-0 win against Chesterfield two weeks ago after a heavy challenge which saw him injure his knee.
After the 20-year-old returned to Anfield for treatment, further damage to his ankle was revealed, meaning he required a double operation.
He was at Bloomfield Road to watch his team-mates beat Swindon before heading to hospital to the operations at the end of last week.
And Jones turned to Twitter to inform people they had gone well.
“Both operations went well, thanks for all the messages now it’s time to recover,” he posted online.
The news comes as a blow for the Seasiders who are due to keep the England youth international until the end of the season.
Boss Neil McDonald said: “Lloyd’s injury was pretty bad, and he could be out for up to three months. It’s a blow as he’s been great for us, but I’m sure he’ll recover quickly and hopefully we can have him back soon. We are all sorry for him as he’s been developing and progressing really well.”
Plymouth born Jones has made eight appearances for the Seasiders so far this season.
