IAN Holloway remains hopeful a deal can be done to keep Mark Howard at the club.
He revealed he spoke to the keeper over the weekend in a bid to persuade him to sign until the end of the season.
The matter is still hanging in the balance and Holloway said: “I told him what I think he should do and what I would do in his position, but he has to make his mind up.
“We have offered him a wage-rise backdated to when he first signed for us. He also has incentives to get him to the figure he wants quickly if he carries on playing.
“I hope he signs but he needs to want to play for us – I don’t want anybody who isn’t fully committed.”
