Blackpool have made their first summer signing.

They have appointed Chris Hough as their new secretary to fill the void left by the departure of Matt Williams, who left this month to become chief executive at League Two club Shewsbury Town.

Hough, who officially starts his new role on Tuesday, arrives at Bloomfield Road with plenty of football administration experience.

Previously club secretary at Crawley Town, where he was recently made redundant in a cost-cutting exercise, he has also held academy secretary positions with Stoke City and Hull City.

Pool chairman Karl Oyston said: “I’m pleased to welcome Chris to Blackpool as our new club decretary.

“He has a good understanding and knowledge of the role and we look forward to working with him at Bloomfield Road.”
