IAN Holloway has blasted the “stinking bunch of elitists” who want to end relegation from the Premier League.

As manager of a club desperately trying to get into the top flight, it is little wonder Holloway took umbrage at the suggestion that foreign owners of Premier League clubs may be plotting to banish relegation in a bid to protect their own interests.

Never one to shirk an issue, the Seasiders boss was happy to give his own forthright opinion.

Holloway said: “If they have their own bloomin’ way, some of them, we will never get back in because they want to make it a closed shop. How wrong is that?

“What a stinking bunch of elitists. Good old Fergie (Sir Alex Ferguson) said, ‘Get lost’ and quite right.

“We went up to the Premier League with the worst budget of any team that has got there.

“It was a miracle to go up. We almost pulled off another by staying up, and it would be another miracle if we got back up again. Those are the facts.

“I am going to try to do that miracle. I did it once and I’m going to have another go, and for someone to say we can’t is absolutely ridiculous and so wrong it’s untrue.”
