Explaining his absence in a statement released earlier today, Gillingham said: “The club can confirm that player Christian Maghoma, who missed Saturday's Sky Bet League One clash with Blackpool, after coming into contact last week with someone with COVID-19, was tested on Friday and was confirmed as negative over the weekend.

“The player reported back with the group this morning for training.”

Steve Evans’ side won the game 2-0 thanks to Dominic Samuel’s double, his goals coming at the start of both halves.
