Blackpool’s squad are enjoying a very rare boost at the moment – everyone’s fully fit.

The Seasiders have been blighted by injuries throughout the season, being down to as few as 13 senior players at the turn of the year.

But following the return from injury of Ricardo Fuller and Neal Bishop, boss Barry Ferguson now has a real selection headache.

And he’s loving every minute of it.

“There are no injuries, none at all, it’s a big positive,” he said.

“I had 30 boys training on Thursday, everyone is out of the treatment room now.

“Everyone knows what they have to do to get into my starting 11.

“The boys that are in the team know if they don’t give a performance, they won’t be in the team the following week.

“I’ve got a really strong squad now and everyone’s fighting for their place.

“That’s what I want.

“I’ll never to leave players out of the starting 11 and I’ll need to leave boys out of the 18.

“That’s the job I’m in, it doesn’t phase me.”

Striker Fuller came on as a 66th minute substitute against Ipswich last week, but looked a little short of match fitness.

And Ferguson says tomorrow may be a little too soon for him to be thrown straight back in from the score.

“Ricardo is probably not as fit as I would like and he’d like,” Ferguson explained.

“He’s an experienced player and knows when he’ll be ready.”
