Martin Paterson could be Blackpool’s latest transfer target as they turn to the out of contract market.
The striker is believed to have been offered to the Seasiders this week and could sign outside the transfer window as he is without a club.
The 28-year-old is a free agent after ‘personal issues’ saw his contract with MLS side Orlando City terminated last month.
Paterson made his name with Scunthorpe and Burnley but has struggled in recent years. Last season’s loan move to Fleetwood from Huddersfield was cut short by injury after three games.
Having joined Orlando on loan in January, the Northern Ireland international made his MLS move permanent this summer.
However, injuries restricted him to just 53 minutes of action in four games and the termination of his contract was mutually agreed.
Meanwhile, Bolton decided against offering a contract to midfielder Andrea Orlandi.
The Spaniard left Blackpool this summer after threatening legal action to activate a release clause in his contract.
Pool never officially confirmed the departure of the 31-year-old, who spent last week training with Neil Lennon’s struggling Trotters.
