Islam Feruz’s unsuccessful loan at Blackpool is set to come to an end, three months early.
The youngster has made two appearances for the club since arriving from Chelsea last month, amounting to just 16 minutes of action.
After failing to make an impact and being left out of the squad in recent weeks, boss Lee Clark has revealed he will be returned.
He said “It hasn’t worked out for him here for one reason or another.
“Between Islam, his agent and agent we are looking to send him back as it hasn’t happened for him here.
“It’s not about your background, it’s the way you perform in training and off the field which gives you a place in the team.”
Feruz was another to court controversy on social media this week with a tweet following Tuesday’s defeat at Brentford.
The 19-year-old wrote “This team take more kick-offs than corners’ before later claiming he wasn’t referring to the Seasiders.
And Clark said his words have nothing to do with the decision to send him back.
When asked, the manager said: “Not at all.
“We’ve been working for a couple of weeks with Chelsea about ending the loan. It is better if Islam returns to Chelsea.
“There’s been a lot of dialogue and it’s been decided this is the right time for him to go back.”
