Blackpool Supporters’ Trust have welcomed Blackpool FC owner Owen Oyston’s assurance that he is “seriously considering” their offer to take control of the club
The Gazette revealed yesterday that Oyston had emailed BST and this newspaper to insist he had not snubbed the trust’s offer, worth £23m.
Having feared the offer made on July 7 would not receive the courtesy of a reply, BST has new hope and its chairman Steve Rowland said: “First of all we are pleased to finally get a response from the Oyston family.
“Hopefully this is the start of dialogue between BST and Mr Oyston about how we can possibly take this bid forward.
“We are hoping this is the first sign that Owen Oyston is willing to deal with BST to find a solution so the club can move forward.
“The trust is open to discussion and negotiation about ownership change at the club and we look forward to some positive dialogue with the owners about how the current dire state of affairs can be resolved.”
No timescale for a reply was mentioned by Oyston in his email. Pool start their League One campaign at Colchester a fortnight tomorrow.
