Karl Oyston has been granted two extra weeks to answer five FA charges of misconduct.

The charges concern the Blackpool chairman’s abusive text messages to supporter Stephen Smith in December.

Oyston was given a deadline of 5pm on Monday this week to respond to the charges, but his request for an extension has been granted.

The decision to delay the deadline until April 14 was made by the independent commissioning panel, who are now dealing with the case, and not the Football Association.
