The result leaves Paderborn rooted to the bottom of the Bundesliga table.

Evans spent an unsuccessful loan spell with the Seasiders last season, making 12 appearances under the management of Terry McPhillips.

The attacking midfielder, who was out of contract with Everton at the end of the season, signed a two-and-a-half year deal with the German outfit.

Upon signing the England Under-19 international, Paderborn's sporting director Martin Przondziono said: “Antony is an absolute top talent. He’s got great potential and is very suited to our style of play.

"His strengths are his tireless running, very good set-pieces and his desire to go forward."
