Chris Eagles has left Blackpool after failing to agree a new deal, forcing the club into the transfer market yet again.
The winger’s two-month contract expired over the weekend, though he has not featured since the turn of the year.
Lee Clark had spoken of his desire to keep the 29-year-old, but after talks broke down the manager revealed he is ready to look at other options.
Clark said: “We are not going to renew Chris’ contract. We’ll be using the finance elsewhere. We have other areas we need to add to.”
Eagles played seven times for the Seasiders, firing his only goal in last month’s draw at Charlton, and has been linked with a return to Bolton Wanderers.
Left-back Tom Kennedy has also left Bloomfield Road after his loan spell from Rochdale.
The last of the 29-year-old’s five Pool appearances was in the 6-1 home mauling by Bournemouth on December 20.
It’s understood Pool have no plans to extend Kennedy’s stay.
