Jose Cubero and Gary MacKenzie have suffered a blow in their comeback battle.
A behind-closed-doors game against Leeds United was arranged for this afternoon, specifically to get much-needed game-time into the pair’s legs.
However, their wait for match action must continue after the plug was pulled on the game yesterday afternoon.
Costa Rican midfielder Cubero has played only twice for the Seasiders and a foot injury has kept him out of action since September, while centre-half MacKenzie hasn’t played since April because of an Achilles tendon problem.
Both are in full training, but manager Lee Clark wants them to get a match under their belt before he considers them for first-team duty.
The Pool boss said: “You can do as much as you like with fitness coaches but the only thing that gets you ready is playing games.”
