Jose Cubero could be set for a shock exit from Bloomfield Road.
The Costa Rican World Cup star has played only 134 minutes for Blackpool since his ill-fated summer move from his homeland.
Following a work permit delay, midfielder Cubero started two games in September before a foot injury kept him out for four months.
Despite returning to training almost three weeks ago and playing in two behind-closed-doors games, Cubero is yet to feature in manager Lee Clark’s match-day squad and didn’t even travel to Norwich for Saturday’s defeat.
The Gazette understands a Norwegian club is now poised to swoop for the 27-year-old midfielder.
The Scandinavian transfer window remains open until the end of the month and it is believed Cubero’s agent has been in talks with clubs in Denmark as well as Norway.
It’s another strange twist after Clark spoke last month of his excitement at working with the Costa Rica international.
The Pool boss said: “Jose Cubero has a class CV. He was very impressive in the World Cup and, by all accounts, when he played for Blackpool. He seems a nice lad who wants to work hard and it’s a big boost to have him back.”
