For Lee Clark tonight’s trip to Fulham is a first – he’s never managed against them.
The new Blackpool boss is a hugely popular figure at Craven Cottage having spent seven years there as a player.
He captained the side which gained promotion to the Premier League in 2001 before going on to help them achieve their highest ever league finish (9th) three years later.
And despite being eight years into his career as a manager, tonight will be the first time he’s faced his former club.
“I’ve never been back as a coach or a manager, so I’m looking forward to it,” he said.
“I had seven fantastic years at Fulham and was captain, it was a terrific period for me.
“We had our highest ever finish in the Premier League and qualified for the UEFA Cup.
“We also went to places like Old Trafford and got results.
“It was a fantastic period for me and my family, we loved it there.
“But I’m going there with all my thoughts with Blackpool and to get a result.”
