Lee Clark says every game will be a cup final for Blackpool for the rest of the season.
The Seasiders travel to Wolves on Saturday eight points from safety at the bottom of the Championship but buoyed by a win over fellow strugglers Millwall last weekend.
If the league was based on results since the start of November, when Clark took over, the Seasiders would sit in mid-table but they haven’t made major inroads into the gap between themselves and 21st place.
And with two tough away games coming up – it’s Watford on Saturday week – Clark wants a big effort from his players.
He said: “Every game now is a cup final for us. We need to give everything, leave nothing in the dressing room and nothing on the training ground.”
All three of Pool’s wins so far this season have been at Bloomfield Road. In 14 away games in all competitions, they have drawn five and lost the rest.
And Clark called on his players to improve that record this weekend.
He added: “It’s about winning games, not just at Bloomfield Road. We need to start picking up more regular wins now.”
