'A decisive moment changed everything': Neil Critchley rues James Husband's red ...

The defender was dismissed in the 85th minute with his side leading 2-1 after Demetri Mitchell’s late strike.

The Imps were also awarded a penalty, which Jorge Grant converted before Michael Appleton’s side went on to claim the spoils courtesy of Lewis Montsma’s 88th-minute strike.

The result means Neil Critchley’s side have now lost three of their opening four league matches.

“We’re very disappointed, that describes our feelings very well,” Maxwell said post-match.

“We’ve taken part in a tough game. The conditions were tough, but that was the same for both teams.

“It was a little bit of a game of two halves. The first half we come off at 1-1 but they only really had the penalty. Second half we were under the cosh a little bit.

“But in the main I thought we did well. They had a few chances but so did we.

“We’ve got a stroke of luck with our goal but I think we deserved it (for our all-round performance).

“Then Hubby has held his hands up in the dressing room and apologised for the red card which let them back in it before they go on to win it.

“It’s a learning curve for us. We’re a young group, a new group, but at the same time we’ve got to turn these performances into points.”
