Neil McDonald has completed his first player deal as Blackpool manager – agreeing an extended contract with winger Henry Cameron.

The 17-year-old has agreed an improved two-year deal, with the option for a further 12 months.

The youth team product had signed an 18-month deal in January, making his first-team debut that month in the home win over Brighton – the last match Pool won.

He went on to make 11 appearances last season, scoring in the 3-2 defeat at Ipswich in April.

The new deal marks a tremendous turnaround for Cameron, who admitted to becoming disillusioned with the game and almost quitting at the start of last season.

Cameron, who turns 18 later this month, told the club website: “The last six months have just been unbelievable. The challenge now is to try to nail down a regular place in the team, get more goals and help the team get back to where it belongs.”
