A team packed full of former Blackpool stalwarts will take on a Leyton Orient legends’ team in what is being described as an “alternative” football match.
The game has been organised by the Blackpool Supporters’ Trust in conjunction with the Football Supporters’ Federation and will take place after the huge Judgement Day 3 protest on Saturday.
Protesters who are boycotting Blackpool’s home games are being encouraged to watch the match after taking part in the demonstration, which starts outside the Big One rollercoaster at Blackpool’s Pleasure Beach at 4pm before making its way alongside the promenade towards Bloomfield Road.
The game will kick off at 6.30pm at AFC Blackpool’s Jepson Way stadium, with coach transport being laid on from Bloomfield Road to the ground.
Blackpool’s team is managed by Eamonn O’Keefe and includes Carl Lancashire, Gary Brabin, Garry Briggs and John Deary among other notable players who have worn the tangerine jersey.
The day’s activities will continue after the match at The Shovels pub from 8pm onwards.
