‘We need you’ that’s the message from Lee Clarke to fans as he attempts to drag Blackpool off the bottom of the Championship table.
The Seasiders are currently five points adrift at the bottom of the Championship table after a disastrous start to the season.
Pool face an Ipswich side who haven’t won in five but have lost just one of their last ten games at Bloomfield Road today.
And Clark says it’s going to need a huge effort from everyone to get things back on track.
“We need positivity around the whole club,” he said.
“I’ve seen the support the fans have backed the players with in the past and we need to continue that.
“We need to keep pushing in the same direction.
“Whoever has any cares or thoughts about Blackpool Football Club need to give us their best thoughts and energy to make sure we can get these results to keep us in the division.
Clark took training again yesterday before heading back to Bloomfield Road to find his feet and sort his backroom staff.
Chairman Karl Oyston has give him the green light to bring at least four staff to the club, including a fitness coach and a head of recruitment.
But Clark said the fans have just as big a part to play.
He said: “When I’ve been here as a manager or watched on TV the support has always been second to none.
“I’d call on the fans to give us that on Saturday and keep getting behind the players.
“Anyone connected with Blackpool don’t want to see us lose our Championship status.
“So lets give everything we can between now and May together to get out of this.
“If by May we’ve stayed up, then the fans have played a huge part and will deserve huge credit.
“We can only succeed by everyone being together.
“There will be ups and downs throughout the course of the season, there always will be.
“But I hope we won’t get too giddy when we have ups and lets look after each other when we are struggling.”
