Blackpool v Preston North End - live updates

Key Events

  • FT: Blackpool 2-0 PNE
  • Seasiders and Lilywhites renew acquaintance after eight long years
  • Pool looking for first home win in the derby in 24 years

Jordan Gabriel does well to clear under pressure at the back post with two PNE players ready to pounce behind him.

Preston corner.

We’re back underway

Preston get the second-half underway. Both sides are unchanged. Preston’s players were out a good two or three minutes before Blackpool and the officials arrived.

Big, big 45 minutes coming up.

So far, so good thanks to Keshi Anderson, who becomes the first Blackpool man to score against PNE since Billy Clarke in 2009. The away fans boo their side off at the break.

Not the greatest of games, but who cares if it stays like this...

Alan Browne becomes the latest Preston player to go into the book for a pull back on Keshi Anderson. Again, it stops a Blackpool counter.

Not for the first time, Marvin Ekpiteta makes an important block to thwart the visitors.

PNE still pressuring though.

There will be four minutes of time added on at the end of the first half.

Richard Keogh heads over from Josh Bowler’s cross. Good chance that.

Patrick Bauer receives the most obvious yellow card in football history as he poleaxes Josh Bowler to stop a Blackpool counter.

Blackpool free-kick, about 35 yards from goal. Looks to be more of a crossing position than a shooting one.

There’s a bit of a coming together between Richard Keogh and Emil Riis, as the latter looks to run onto a long ball over the top.

Preston think Keogh fouled their man, but the referee waves play on.

27 - Blackpool lead

James Husband does superbly to control a high diagonal, before pulling the ball back to Keshi on the edge of the box.

He hits it first-time and his effort seems to wrong foot the keeper, with the ball creeping in at the near post.

Bloomfield Road comes alive!!
