Grant Ward is 40...35 yards from goal but space opens up for him. He tries his luck and produces a superb effort, which looks destined for the top corner. But Dillon Phillips makes an excellent save to tip over.

Another Cardiff corner, another chance. Ryan Giles delivers, Sean Morrison heads straight at Chris Maxwell.

Josh Bowler is found on the right by Grant Ward, cuts inside and skews wide. The winger is already making an impact.

Josh Bowler wins a corner for Blackpool within 20 seconds of coming on and gets the North Stand roaring again. Little things like that can make all the difference.

CJ Hamilton is the man to make way for Josh Bowler. It’s been another quiet afternoon for the winger.

Aden Flint is allowed to run unchallenged to meet Ryan Giles’ corner, but his header is blocked.

Pool have to do better than that though.

Cardiff have men over at the back from Joe Ralls’ lofted cross, but Callum Connolly - initially out of position - recovers to head behind.

Grant Ward clips a clever ball beyond the Cardiff backline, which Jerry Yates reaches ahead of keeper Dillon Phillips. But Phillips does well to smother and claim.

The Seasiders, to their credit, have rallied after their setback, roared on by the boisterous North Stand.

The noise from behind the goal is incredible. They need to see better from the players on the pitch though.

52 - GOAL CARDIFF (0-1)

The Seasiders continue to play into Cardiff’s hands, conceding cheap free-kicks and throw-ins.

One of these such long throws is flicked towards the back post, where Leandro Bacuna can’t miss, heading home high into the Blackpool net.

It’s deserved, it has to be said.
