BLACKPOOL will face Everton at Bloomfield Road to mark Keith Southern’s testimonial.
David Moyes’ men will face Pool on August 5th.
Southern began his career at Everton and joined Blackpool from them, initially on loan, in 2002.
“It’s fantastic news and I can’t thank Blackpool enough for giving me the opportunity to have a testimonial and Everton for kindly coming down to play the game,” Southern said.
“When the club first offered me a possible testimonial Everton were the first and only choice I wanted really. I spent five or six fantastically happy years at the club as a young boy and I’ve still got many friends there.
“I don’t think there’s much loyalty in the game these days so it’s very seldom that a player spends that sort of time with a club. I’m probably one of a dying breed of people that have spent 10 years at one particular club. I’ve never really wanted to go anywhere else while I’ve been at Blackpool, I’ve never needed to because we’ve stepped up through the divisions.
“The club has always matched my ambition and I’d like to think that I’ve given good service and good value over the years. I think it has been a fantastic relationship over 10 years,” he added.
