BLACKPOOL have signed Andy Reid from Sunderland.
The 28-year-old midfielder arrives at Bloomfield Road for an undisclosed fee..
Reid, who is a Republic of Ireland international, has made 70 appearances for the Black Cats since his £4million switch from Charlton in January 2008.
However, he became surplus to requirements under Steve Bruce and followed Paulo da Silva and David Healy out of the Stadium of Light.
Speaking at a press conference on Monday afternoon, Pool boss Ian Holloway confirmed the deal and revealed he feels he has a bargain.
”I think he will be perfect for us and it won’t take me long to get him going,” said Holloway.
“He’s gone for £12million (in cumulative transfer fees) in the past so that’s not a bad take for us I believe.”
The boss also revealed that he has ‘at least two’ more players due to sign before the deadline.
He said: “We’ve got a few more travelling here as we speak, but they may well change direction yet.”
