Jim McAlister has finalised a two-year deal at Blackpool
The Scottish midfielder has spent the last 10 days on trial with McDonald’s squad and played in the friendlies at Ross County, St Johnstone and Morecambe.
The 29-year-old is a free agent, having turned down the chance to stay at Dundee, where he spent the last three seasons.
McAlister was offered a contract with the Seasiders on Monday and signed after a medical in Lytham last night.
The deal is for two years with the option of a third and McAlister said: “I’m seeking a fresh challenge and thankfully I’ve been given the opportunity to come here. I’m really, really looking forward to getting started.
“I spoke to Kyle Letheren before I met up with the boys in Scotland last week and he had nothing but good things to say about the whole place.”
Fellow triallist Emmerson Boyce was again set to train with the club today, despite sitting out Tuesday’s drawn friendly at Morecambe.
The 35-year-old watched that match from the Globe Arena stands, wearing a Blackpool tracksuit. He could feature in Pool’s final friendly at Accrington tomorrow night.
