POOL’S bid to sign Rangers attacking midfielder John Fleck is on hold.
The Scottish giants had been prepared to let Fleck join the Seasiders but the deal has been scuppered by an injury to Kyle Lafferty.
Gers striker Lafferty has been ruled out for a month with a hamstring injury and Fleck is needed as cover.
Rangers boss Ally McCoist said: “Lafferty will be out for a few weeks, so we have to reassess the whole situation in terms of a loan deal for Fleck.
“The way Flecky played (against Motherwell on Monday, when he came off the bench to replace the stricken Lafferty) would indicate that he will have more appearances in our first team. We will have a rethink.”
