The Seasiders make the trip to the KCOM Stadium looking to claim a league double against the Tigers, whom they beat in dramatic fashion at Bloomfield Road last month.

While Blackpool received plenty of plaudits for their FA Cup upset against West Bromwich Albion last week, they’ll be looking to back it up with three points in the league having lost to both Shrewsbury Town and Bristol Rovers in their last two outings.

“Every game is an opportunity to pick up three points and that’s the way we approach every game,” Critchley said.

“We want to be a team that goes to try and win every game, we’re not a team that wants to defend and grind out draws or nick a goal on the break. We’re not like that.

“However, you’ve got to have a plan, you’ve got to be organised, you’ve got to know what you’re doing defensively.

“We have lost a little bit of momentum over Christmas. I thought it was a good point against Accrington in a game between two good teams who were in form.

“We played well against Bristol Rovers and should have won the game. The Shrewsbury game was probably the biggest disappointment.

“If you look at the performances in three of those games, I was pleased with two of them but we have to get back on the horse quickly and that starts at Hull on Saturday.”

Having regained some confidence last week with the humbling of top flight side West Brom, Critchley is hoping his side can kickstart another spell of good form in the league.

“You can see the lift it gave the players, you felt that in training on Monday and Tuesday of this week,” he added.

“It creates a feelgood factor around the training ground and it strengthens that belief between the staff and the players that they’re believing in the messages that are being given and what the players are capable of.

“That should give us confidence for the second half of the season but the games we sometimes face in League One are not always that type of game, they’re different.

“We have to find a way of producing that level of performance on a consistent basis in our division.”
