Nottingham, who made the move from Salford City earlier this week, already knew Tilt prior to his move to Blackpool as they are represented by the same management company.

The 29-year-old will no doubt want to follow in the footsteps of Tilt, who has enjoyed a fine first 12 months at Bloomfield Road having made the step-up from non-league.

Tilt, who arrived on a free transfer from Wrexham last summer, was rewarded for his superb debut season as a league player by taking home three gongs at the club’s end-of-season awards night.

“I know Curtis quite well, he’s an amazing player,” Nottingham said.

“He’s come such a long way over the years and looking at his story, that’s more inspiration for me to try and do the same.

“I do believe in my own ability and I do believe I can give back.”

Nottingham put pen to paper on a two-year deal with the Seasiders on Monday with the option of a further 12 months.

The Birmingham-born man, who is capable of playing at both right-back and centre-back, was recently named in the National League North team of the season after helping Salford seal the league title.

The goalscoring defender, who predominantly played at right-back this season, notched 11 times in his first year with Salford after arriving from Solihull Moors.

This season he popped up with a further four goals.

“I feel like I’ve got a lot of energy and I’d like to think I’m quite talented on the ball,” Nottingham added.

“I’m also very versatile so I’m capable of playing in different positions. I adapt quite quickly.

“I like to get the odd goal as well, which is always an added bonus.

“But as long as I give 100 per cent and my performances are where I want them to be, then I’ll be happy with that.”

Nottingham now has two months to get himself prepared for the start of the new League One season, which gets underway on August 4.

“It’s all about having a good start and finding your feet at a new club,” he said.

“The work starts from now for me. I think I will start doing my own stuff in the next couple of weeks to try and get as fit as I can for the start of the season.

“Hopefully I can get my foot in and do as well as I can.

“The coaching staff seem like genuine, nice guys so I’m just looking forward to working with them.

“They’ve got a good record and they’ve developed other players, so hopefully they can do that with me.”
