The Seasiders will be keen to get back to winning ways after losing for the sixth time this season at AFC Wimbledon in midweek.

There’s no time to rest with Pool at the Pirelli Stadium this afternoon before hosting Wigan Athletic on Tuesday night.

“After any loss, you want to get back out on the pitch and put things right. The quicker the games come, the better,” Turton said.

“Going into Saturday, hopefully we can put the things we did wrong against Wimbledon behind us and try and get a win.

“I feel like our performances have been good and we should probably have more points than we do.

“It’s probably the little mistakes here and there, things not going for us like on Tuesday when we ended the game with nine men.

“If we keep doing the right things on the training pitch, transfer that to the games and we gel as a team, because it’s a whole new team we’ve got here, then I think those wins will come.

“We’ve got to believe in what we’re doing, work non-stop all the time and hopefully it all comes together and we get the wins we want.”

Following the summer turnaround, Turton is now the club’s longest-serving player.

With 17 players arriving at the club in total since the end of last season, it will take time for them to gel but the defender insists that won’t be used as an excuse.

“Having new players in the team, it’s just part of football,” the 27-year-old said.

“Each year you come across new players. The squad we’ve got this year, we’ve got some really good players.

“You have to learn people’s strengths, people’s weaknesses, how they like to play. It comes as you train with them every day and play in games with them.

“It will gel together. I’m an old face now, but we’ve got a good squad now and all the lads are brilliant. We’re quite close-knit.”

Turton is also working with Neil Critchley for a second time in his career and, despite the results so far, the right-back is enjoying learning new things.

“I’ve known the manager for years now as he was my youth team manager at Crewe. He’s great to work with,” Turton said.

“He’s a brilliant coach and it’s nice to come to training every day knowing you’re going to be learning.

“That’s the good thing about this team, all the players want to learn from the coach and take it into the games. That’s what we want to do.”
