Blackpool boss spells out Hull City's threat ahead of tomorrow's trip

CJ Hamilton netted a dramatic stoppage-time winner against the Tigers a month ago as Critchley’s side claimed an impressive 3-2 win.

The Seasiders, who have failed to pick up another victory in the three league games they’ve played since, will be looking to complete their first double of the campaign when they make the trip across the Pennines on Saturday.

“We played very well that night and it was obviously a great end to the game for us,” Critchley said.

“To score a last minute winner is always a nice feeling but I felt it was deserved on the night.

“It would have been great had the ground been full because it would have been bouncing, particularly with the manner in which we won the game.

“We understand this game on Saturday will be different. We’re playing away from home and that was a few weeks ago, so that counts for nothing when we kick off at 3pm.”

Grant McCann’s side were top of the League One table before their defeat against Blackpool at Bloomfield Road in December.

Hull, who overcame Fleetwood Town in the EFL Trophy in midweek, now sit second, four points off leaders Lincoln City with a game in hand.

“They’re very strong. I would say they’re arguably the best or the strongest team we’ve faced this season,” Critchley added.

“We played extremely well on the night and deserved to win the game a couple of weeks back, but we still saw their quality and what they’ve got in their squad.

“Not so long ago they were in the top half of the Championship. A lot of those players were playing in that side.

“They didn’t have a great second half to the season in the Championship, but you can see the quality they’ve got. They’re very strong and at home they’ll be a really tough proposition to play against.”

Former Blackpool loanee Jordan Flores could make his Hull debut against Pool after signing for the Tigers earlier this week.
