Blackpool boss is happy to have defender at his disposal

The 26-year-old missed Saturday's 2-1 win at Port Vale with a slight hamstring issue but was back for Tuesday's match at Bloomfield Road, when Barrow were beaten by the same scoreline.

Husband is another player whose versatility ticks more than one box for Critchley, who stressed that adaptable players will become increasingly important as the salary cap limits the size of squads.

Critchley said of former Fleetwood defender Husband: “He comes into that category of being able to play at left-back or on the left side of a back three, and he’s shown he can play at centre-back.

“He’s one of the senior players in the group now and is a good presence around the group.

“He’s a good leader, who speaks well, and the players respect him.

“He was unfortunate to miss the game on Saturday but it was really great to see him back on the pitch.”
