Blackpool announce new dates for League One fixtures against Burton Albion, Peterborough United and Sunderland

The Seasiders suffered back-to-back postponements last week when their home games against Burton and Peterborough were both called off due to a frozen pitch.

Neil Critchley’s side were due to host Burton at Bloomfield Road on Tuesday, February 9 only for the game to be called off barely 10 minutes before kick-off.

Jimmy Floyd-Hasselbaink’s side will now make the return on Tuesday, March 16.

Burton were originally scheduled to take on Blackpool on January 30, but that game also fell to the wayside following a Covid-19 outbreak among Hasselbaink’s squad.

Posh, meanwhile, will make the trip to the Fylde coast the following Tuesday on March 23.

Blackpool were originally due to make the trip to Sunderland on that night, but that game has now been pushed back to Tuesday, April 27 to make space in the fixture schedule.

That game has already been postponed twice, first owing to international call-ups in the Sunderland squad before it was then called off for a second time following a Covid outbreak at the Stadium of Light.

All three rescheduled games will kick-off at 7pm.

The rearranged games mean the Seasiders now just have one free midweek remaining between now and the end of the season.
