TWO goals from Kevin Phillips handed Blackpool their second win of the season.

The 38-year-old striker scored either side of the break before George Boyd gave Pool a scare in the dying moments.

Follow our minute-by-minute report below:

90 mins: Four minutes time added on.

87 mins: Decent free-kick by Billy Clarke whipped into the box, Craig Sutherland heads over.

86 mins: Very difficult spell for Blackpool here as Peterborough throw everything at getting a point. This time Tommy Rowe headed over from six yards, should have hit the target.

In typical fashion Blackpool let the opposition into the game late on as George Boyd capitalised on a Craig Cathcart mistake to round Gilks and make it 2-1.

80 mins: Craig Sutherland replaces Kevin Phillips, the goalscorer recieves a standing ovation.

78 mins: Despite being comfortable, Matt Gilks has been forced into action a few times, and has been superb. The latest a decent save from Paul Taylor.

75 mins: Game really has died down here, Blackpool in total control. We are only one Peterborough goal away from a nervy ending, so another Pool goal would help.

70 mins: Elliot Grandin is replaced by Billy Clarke.

69 mins: Alex Baptiste is getting forward well today and his latest burst into the box resulted in a corner after his shot fired off a defender.

66 mins: Brett Ormerod is replaced by Matty Phillips, good to see the winger back after a spell with England at the U20s World Cup.

59 mins: 12,881 is the crowd today at Bloomfield Road.

58 mins: Great ball from Barry Ferguson unleashed Baptiste down the right who fired a cross towards Ormerod in the six yard box. The striker flick going just wide.

57 mins: The game has calmed down here after a frantic start. Blackpool will be happy to slow things down now and play at their own pace.

LATEST: BLACKPOOL 2 Peterborough 0

Super Kevin Phillips won’t score an easier goal as he side-foots it home from five yards after Keith Southern had forced a decent save from Paul Jones.

Goals just before and just after the break....perfect.

A good half of football with plenty of chances for both sides. Pool just about deserve their lead.

46 mins: Craig Cathcart is booked for a pull back on the edge of the box. Grant McCann fired the resulting free-kick just wide.

Kevin Phillips headed home and Alex Baptiste cross. Hopefully the first of many for Phillips.

42 mins: Long range effort by Stephen Crainey on the half volley. Always rising.

38 mins: Ian Evatt, Blackpool’s tough tackling defender, just turned at the edge of the box, nutmegged a defender before curling an effort just over. The Premier League has done wonders for Evo!

34 mins: Another fantastic save from Gilks as David Ball raced in one-one. Blackpool won’t be happy with the amount of times they are allowing strikers in behind them.

26 mins: Big chance for Peterborough as a mistake from Craig Cathcart saw Lee Tomlin clear in on goal, his shot was superbly saved by Matt Gilks though.

24 mins: Another near miss for Blackpool. This time Elliot Grandin has a header cleared off the line after he got on the end of an Ormerod over-head kick.

18 mins: Up to the other end and yet another corner from Grandin creates danger. This time Craig Cathcart headed just over.

17 mins: After a good Pool start Peterborough have hit back, couple of corners testing Blackpool’s defenders. Good start to the game here.

15 mins: End-to-end game here as Southern heads a Ryan Bennett effort off the line.

13 mins: First corner of the game for the away side. Grant McCann’s cross headed away by Kevin Phillips.

11 mins: A frantic start from Blackpool. This time Alex Baptiste burst into the box and fired just wide. Could be 3-0 here already.

9 mins: How are Pool not ahead here? Another great corner found Kevin Phillips who saw his header cleared off the line. Posh hacked the ball away only as far as Grandin who rattled the post from 25 yards. Great spell.

8 mins: Good pressure from Blackpool. Two good corners in a row from Elliot Grandin causing havoc.

7 mins: Have to say Peterborough look very nervous at the back.

4 mins: Bright start to the game here, both teams going for it early on. Should make for a decent game.

3pm: Hello and welcome to another season at Bloomfield Road. Good crowd in today, Pool are unchanged.

Pre match: Ian Holloway has named an unchanged side from the one that won away at Hull just over a week ago.

The Seasiders welcome Matty Phillips back onto the bench after his exploits at the U20s World Cup with England.

Pool: Gilks, Crainey, Southern, Evatt, Grandin, Phillips, Ormerod, Taylor-Fletcher, Baptiste, Ferguson, Cathcart.

Subs: Clarke, Hill, Halstead, Phillips and Sutherland.
