BEN Burgess has signed for The Gazette.
The former Blackpool striker will write about the latest from Bloomfield Road and the world of football in his new weekly column.
A knee injury recently forced the 30-year-old to retire from football after a career which saw him make over 300 appearances and score 75 goals.
He spent his spare time studying for a degree in journalism and can’t wait to share his thoughts with Gazette readers.
“I’m looking forward to it,” Burgess said. “Now my football career is over I’m looking to get involved in media, and I hope Gazette readers will enjoy what I have to say.”
Burgess was a popular figure during his four years at Bloomfield Road.
He joined from Hull in 2006 and went onto make 126 appearances for the club, his last being as a substitute during Pool’s famous play-off final win over Cardiff at Wembley.
Don’t miss the first of Ben’s exclusive Gazette columns this Saturday.
