After Ian Holloway announced his plan to allow squad players out on loan – defender Chris Basham has become the first to put his hand up for a short-term move.
The 23-year-old defender, whose first season at Bloomfield Road was wrecked by injury, has managed only one Championship start this season.
The seven-figure signing from Bolton said: “If the manager wants me to go out on loan to a League One or Championship club, then I’ll do that because I need to play games.
“I’ve been to see the manager. Obviously, with me having a lot of time out with injury last year, I just need to go out, maybe for a month, have a good run of games and then come back again.
“The first team are playing really well and it’s very difficult to change that side.”
League One would appear to be a more likely destination for Basham, after Holloway stated he would not give Pool’s Championship rivals a helping hand.
Pool’s Championship visit to Southampton on December 10 has been brought forward to a 12.45pm kick-off for live broadcast on Sky Sports.
